EVENTS – Uganda to host the 54th Inter-african Coffee Organization (IACO) Annual General Assembly and The Second African Coffee Symposium

Uganda will host IACO Annual General Assembly and coffee symposium from 17th – 21st November 2014 at Serena Hotel in Kampala. The theme of the symposium will be “unlocking the potential of African coffee industry”.
The symposium will take place from 17th to 18th November 2014 and will be opened by the Hon. Minister of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), Hon. Tress Bucyanayandi. This will be followed by the Annual General Assembly (AGA) on 19th November 2014 which will be opened by Hon. Prime Minister of Uganda Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda.
The event is organized by the IACO Secretariat, Uganda Coffee Development Authority, African Fine Coffees Association, Africa Coffee Academy, Ministries of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries; Trade, Industry and Cooperatives; Foreign Affairs, and Coffee associations, among others. The symposium will attract coffee specialists from all over the globe: Latin America; Europe; Asia; North America and Africa. Alongside the symposium and the AGA, 20 exhibitors from African coffee boards and selected domestic players will showcase their products and services.
The Inter-african Coffee Organization (IACO, or OIAC, in the French acronym) is an inter-governmental organization was established in 1960 and brings together 25 coffee growing countries in Africa with the primary objective of creating a common platform to develop the coffee industry in African countries.
