As the weather heats up, so does our desire for iced coffee. Not just any iced coffee — good, cold brew coffee with plant-based or dairy-free add-ins to match.

Luckily for us, the plant-based milk industry is on the rise, and there are more dairy-free creamers on the market than we know what to do with, which is an excellent start.

Coffee chains like Starbucks are already offering plant-based milks, which we love. When we learned that organic, vegan lattes made with high-protein nut milk are now available at Trader Joe’s, we felt nothing short of #blessed.

Trader Joe’s is a neighborhood grocery store based in Monrovia, California.

The grocery chain is showing no signs of slowing down on offering vegan-friendly products for its consumers and constantly advertises its vegan products online.

According to Trader Joe’s Instagram, they made their new latte’s base by mixing organic cold-brewed coffee with organic cocoa powder. Next, they took organic, cold-milled, cashew and almond-based vegan “milk” for the “Nut Latte” portion of the beverage.

While different kinds of plant-based milks provide different nutritional benefit, nut-based milk is known for being sweet, nutty and creamy in particular. Perfect for pairing with a bitter cold brew!

“The entire 12-ounce bottle of this smooth, rich drink contains 5 grams of protein, and a mere 180 calories,” Trader Joe’s boasts on its Instagram.

Trader Joe’s went above and beyond with their innovations and added organic dates in order to keep the sweetness levels high, while avoiding refined sugar. Vanilla, cinnamon, and pink Himalayan salt are also thrown into the mix for extra depth of flavor and ultimate vegan tastiness.

Each 12-ounce bottle of Trader Joe’s Organic Cold Brew Mocha Nut Latte retails at what the company calls its “thanks-a-latte price” of $4.49. You’ll find it in the refrigerated section of your local TJ’s, stored beside their fresh juices, smoothies, and teas.
