BALI, Indonesia – Expat. Roasters, Indonesia’s leading specialty coffee brand, announces the opening of its newest store at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport’s domestic arrival hall. As travelers arrive on the Island of the Gods, they are now invited to experience Expat’s signature approach to coffee, celebrating Bali’s rich coffee heritage and craftsmanship.
This 93 m² brew bar introduces travelers to more than just coffee; it’s an immersive experience designed with open, inviting elements for a close connection with the coffee-making process.
The central layout allows guests to interact with baristas as they craft every cup, creating a space that combines the warmth of Expat’s other Bali locations with the unique energy of an international gateway. The architectural design, a collaboration between Wilson Harkhono of WHAstudio and Sydney-based X plus O Design Studio, is inspired by Bali’s natural beauty and culture, subtly blending Balinese elements into a fresh, modern ambiance.
“Our Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport store is a milestone for Expat. Roasters,” says Shae Macnamara, Founder & CEO. “It’s not only about serving coffee but offering a warm welcome for travelers arriving in Bali, connecting them to the island through its coffee culture. This space reflects the heart of Bali—from the beans we roast here to the friendly faces behind the counter, all ready to share the spirit of Bali’s coffee heritage.”
At Ngurah Rai, Expat’s signature blends like Patria, Nomad, and Bali Kintamani single-origin beans take center stage, with cold brew cans for a convenient, on-the-go option. Complementing the coffee offerings are freshly baked croissants, toasties, and light snacks, ideal for travelers seeking a memorable start to their Bali journey. The natural greenery within the store reflects Expat’s commitment to sustainability, offering travelers a calming, grounded atmosphere amid the bustling airport.
