Sandalj Trading Company has something extra special for TriestEspresso Expo this year. Visitors to the Sandalj Trading Company stand (Hall 27 Stand 2) will be offered an exclusive tasting of Loacker® wafers in Espresso and Cappuccino flavours, two new products developed by the Alto Adige-based confectioner in collaboration with Sandalj’s coffee professionals.
The Trieste fair is one of the most keenly awaited events on the international coffee calendar, making it the ideal venue to reinforce the highly successful partnership sealed a few years ago by Sandalj Trading Company and Loacker®, the wafer and chocolate confectionery giant.
Since it was established by Alfons Loacker in 1925, the family-run confectionery manufacturer has achieved worldwide success and an enviable reputation for excellence. For the past few years, Loacker®’s traditional product lines have been underpinned by the Loacker Point concept and the launch of Loacker BrandStores, single-brand sales spaces for the entire Loacker range incorporating a sit-down coffee shop.
Loacker BrandStores serve the exclusive Loacker Moccaria blend created in the coffee laboratories at Sandalj, a leader in coffee imports and exports for the espresso market. The blend is also distributed under the Loacker Moccaria Espresso label. Edy Bieker, Sandalj’s quality and training supremo, has come up with a formula that will satisfy even the most demanding customers. Loacker Moccaria Espresso is a unique blend of premium coffees whose confectionery-friendly palette of aromas resonates with Loacker®’s distinctive flavours and brand philosophy.
Bieker’s customised blend of coffee also goes into Loacker®’s famed wafers, featuring in the tempting Quadratini squares – available in Espresso and Cappuccino flavours – and in the limited-edition Espresso bars that Sandalj will be presenting at Hall 27, Stand 2 to TriestEspresso Expo visitors. The coffee-and-wafer partnership came about with the support of Loacker®’s head office at Auna di Sotto, in the province of Bolzano, – www.loacker.com – and the Loacker BrandStore at Via Roma 24, Trieste, run for the past year by Michele Riso.
Consultancy and custom-tailoring of coffee products are two of the specialist services that Sandalj Trading Company offers to clients. While single-origin coffees offer great satisfaction when enjoyed on their own, the results obtainable from a blend of different coffees should not be overlooked. Blending makes it possible to achieve even more balanced aroma and flavour profiles with a broader array of customisable aromas. Sandalj will also be presenting Stradivari and Toscanini at TriestEspresso Expo. Coffee lovers will have the opportunity to taste a number of rare varieties as well as some of the mainstays of the Sandalj range sourced from Porto Rico, Honduras, Mexico, Colombia and Ethiopia. Finally, Sandalj Trading Company will be helping the general public to find out about how high-quality ingredients are prepared by the espresso and other extraction systems as part of the itinerant Io bevo caffè di qualità (I Drink Quality Coffee) event.
Created by Trieste-born coffee expert Andrej Godina with one of Italy’s finest baristas, Francesco Sanapo, Io bevo caffè di qualità will be coming to Trieste for the first time from 22 to 26 October during TriestEspresso Expo week. The venue is the Antico Caffè San Marco in Via Battisti, where members of the public can experience superior coffee’s appeal while finding out about coffee as a product and a culture. The exceptional coffees on offer will be supplied by Sandalj.
