MILAN – Coffee exports from Ethiopia rose by about 17,000 tonnes year-on-year during the first five months of the current fiscal year, which runs from July 8 to July 7, the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Development and Marketing Authority reported on Wednesday.
According to the Authority, the east African country shipped 92,136 tons of coffee to the global market during the above-mentioned period.
Export earnings reached over USD334 million. Ethiopia posted a record USD866 million during the last fiscal year from the export of 221,000 tons of coffee to 56 countries worldwide.
The top three export markets for it were Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
