MILAN (Italy) – Inspired by the first total solar eclipse in 1961 – and also named after it – the Faema E61 changed the history of coffee machines, contributing to the birth of the modern coffee bar as we know it today. The café is hosting a special event celebrating the first 60 years of a revolutionary machine; the ideal opportunity to communicate the passion and creativity that Faema has always shared with the world of cycling.
Two-wheel enthusiasts have always been connected to the company through the historic red and white jersey of La Faema, the men’s road cycling team whose champions included Eddy Merckx for three seasons, from 1968 to 1970, making the team one of the strongest ever.
Faemina
It is also the ideal setting to present to the public Faemina, the new Faema-branded single group espresso coffee machine with a unique and exclusive design for the home environment.
A return to the domestic sphere for Faema, with a premium, very high-performance product for a coffee at home just like one you would get in a café.
The programme
During the event, which has three different parts to it, the public will be able to enjoy a good coffee on the top floor with a Faema E61 featuring a customised panel dedicated to its 60th birthday and a Faema E71, a machine that meets the needs of coffee specialists and also piques the interest of baristas. Downstairs, the Faema E71 touch and a President GTI will be on display.
The programme of activities is as follows:
- 8 p.m. – Faema E61 presentation: brand history and connection with the world of cycling
- 45 p.m. – Official Faemina presentation
- 15 p.m. – Latte Art Show with Manuela Fensore, world champion
