TRIESTE, Italy — illycaffè is once again a partner for ITS – International Talent Support, the competition for young talents in fashion design held in Trieste, that opens a window onto new trends. The contest, founded in 2002 by Barbara Franchin, has become an important platform for recognising new creative energies by providing a unique opportunity to make contact with the most prestigious international companies.
This partnership was born from the shared passion of illy and ITS for promoting and supporting the creativity and excellence of young talents. The project reaches its culmination this year with the final on 12th July, inviting many leading figures from the international world of fashion to the city.
illycaffè is supporting the event with the “ITS Fashion@Work by illy Award”, a prize that invites 10 finalists, carefully selected by illycaffè Artistic Director Carlo Bach, to offer a creative and fashionable re-invention of the barista’s apron.
The results offer an eclectic panorama of personal visions: from minimalist to baroque, from technological to traditional, and from elegant to sporty, transforming an every-day item into a design object. During the event on the evening of 12th July, the 10 finalists will display their prototypes and just one winner will be selected, who will receive a prize of 10,000 euros.
The evening will also see the unveiling of the final results of ITS TIME FOR COFFEE, the special prize launched in 2018 by illycaffè and Swatch and awarded to the English artist Tolu Coker.
There will be a special section with an exhibition of the prototypes for the illy Art Collection and the maxi Swatch she created. Tolu’s hybrid aesthetics, mingling ancestral roots and metropolitan multiculturalism are translated into the design for the new illy Art Collection cup that will be seen here for the first time.
And of course illycaffè will also be present with our unmistakable blend of 100% Arabica coffee: during the evening, a bar will be available where guests can enjoy the refreshing cocktails prepared with illy Cold Brew, from 9.00 pm to 10.30 pm and from 11.15 pm to around 03.00 am.
