SAN FRANCISCO, USA – Fellow, the specialty coffee gear company on a mission to help people brew cafe quality coffee at home, today announced a new partnership with Square Mile Coffee Roasters as the next international roaster for its widely popular text-to-order coffee program, Fellow Drops.
A multi-award-winning coffee roasting company based in London, Square Mile Coffee Roasters was founded in 2008 by specialty coffee pioneers Anette Moldvaer and James Hoffman, and has since grown to a team of 37 coffee professionals who share a similar passion for the specialty coffee industry. The company prides itself on the exceptional quality coffee it sources, buys, imports, roasts, and delivers internationally.
On the heels of a sold-out drop of Black Honey Wush Wush by Push X Pull with U.S. Barista Champion and viral TikToker Morgan Eckroth (Morgan Drinks Coffee), the Square Mile collaboration is part of Fellow’s ongoing effort to bring exclusive roasts from around the world to everyday coffee drinkers.
“We’re really excited to be a part of Fellow Drops. It’s a great program that has such an infectious enthusiasm for how incredibly fun and interesting coffee is. It’s great to get to be a part of that!,” said Square Mile co-founder, author, and world barista champion James Hoffman.
Launched last summer, Fellow Drops has attracted thousands of subscribers to its text-based coffee ordering service – where customers opt in to purchase weekly curated selections of exclusive, limited release, made-to-order roasts from around the world. Through relationships with renowned international roasters, Drops procures hard-to-access coffees that often can’t be purchased anywhere else in the U.S. Past award-winning roasters have included Tim Wendelboe of Oslo, Norway and La Cabra of Frederiksberg, Denmark.
Fellow Drops follows a rigorous selection process to bring the very best roasts to customers. The company’s in-house tasting panel is made up of three Q Grader certified coffee experts, including Nick Terzulli, Fellow’s VP of Hardware and R&D. The panel tasted more than 300 coffees in the second half of last year and continue to taste and discover new roasts at this rate to curate the very best weekly picks for Fellow fans.
How it Works
Every week, Fellow’s tasting panel chooses a phenomenal new coffee from the hundreds they taste and sends subscribers a text about the coffee with a limited time window to buy it. Customers simply text back with how many bags they want, and receive roasted-to-order, ready-to-enjoy coffee at their door.
Anyone can sign up for Fellow Drops here. The program is free to join and no purchase is necessary; every week’s coffee selection is fully opt-in.
