HELSINKI, Finland – Paulig has been named among the top 10 most innovative companies in Finland according to an annual ranking conducted by Hanken School of Economics. The Finnish Innovation Index (FII) is a national indicator, which focuses on Finnish consumers’ perception of companies’ innovativeness and attractiveness, based on their experiences.

“We are honored to have received this recognition, especially as it comes directly from the Finnish consumers. Innovation plays an important role in the development of our product portfolio as well as our sustainability actions and operations in general – it is a key success factor in driving future growth.

It is uplifting to see that our efforts both in commercial and social innovativeness have reached the consumers. By offering great products and delicious flavours we want to bring people together to create and share meaningful moments”, says Paula Backman, CMO of Paulig.

The research was conducted first time in 2021 and this was the second time Paulig was ranked among the top 10.

Hanken School of Economics described the research with the following statement:

‘’The annual ranking conducted at Hanken School of Economics lists the most innovative companies according to Finnish consumers. In addition to commercial innovation, another dimension of innovation considered is social innovation, meaning the extent to which companies benefit society and the environment through their innovations. The FII Social Innovation Index quantifies the perceived contribution to society through innovation. It is unique in its focus not only on environmental sustainability but on the societal good as well.’’

‘’The results of the FII show that meaningful innovation which integrates solutions for society’s grand challenges is part of what makes these companies stand apart from their competitors. The FII provides evidence that innovation that lacks the intent to make societal difference are perceived as less attractive. Therefore, companies excelling in both social and commercial innovation achieve success.’’

The national survey involved 5,000 consumers who evaluated 65 companies from 19 industries on key metrics such as, value proposition, customer treatment, company attractiveness and customer loyalty.
