Foodex Japan 2016: record number of exhibitors expected

CHIMA, Japan – JMA (Japan Management Association and four other related organizations will host FOODEX JAPAN 2016 – Asia’s largest food and beverage trade show – for four days, from March 8th(Tue) through March 11th(Fri) at Makuhari Messe, Chiba. This is one of Asia’s largest international exhibitions on food and drinks.

This year marks the 41st edition, and about 3,000 food and beverage makers and sellers from 79 countries and regions, the highest number ever, will be exhibiting. Over the 4 days of the exhibition, about 77,000 buyers from food service, distribution, and trading companies are expected to attend.

Attention will be given to the expansion of business opportunities domestically and internationally before the start of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Many buyers will also be attending from abroad, and negotiations will be held with domestic makers for the purpose of overseas development.

The latest information for food in 2016 will be presented in exhibitions, seminars, and grand prix on topics such as “the latest overseas trends,” “the perspective of women/mothers,” “domestic and international food,” and “superfoods.”
