Still one month to go and the figures are already clear.

This year is going to be as successful as ever. Over 1,500 international buyers, 2,081 companies, 1,255 of which are Italian (60.3%) and 826 (39.7%) from over 51 countries (a 3.5% increase compared to 2015) will make this event unique.

The Furniture, Technology, and Tableware pavilion confirms its unstoppable growth.

Italy’s products keep growing: export increased by 1.9% in 2017

But that’s not all, because the positive trend shows how this increase can further improve throughout 2017, as it can mark an extraordinary +2%.

Good news is also coming from the export compartment (worth € 568 million) to which 66% of the production is destined. In 2016, exportations increased by 0.5% compared to the previous year, and expectations for 2017 are high (+1.9%).

As for the international demand, France is still leading the compartment with its € 105.6 million, followed by Germany, United States, Switzerland, and Spain. EU-28 still leads this special ranking (59%), followed by Asia (11.1%) and North America (8.4%).

EXIHS is back to the Furniture, Technology, and Tableware exhibition

A mix of innovative and traditional furniture and tableware solutions showcased through unique formats created by international architects, designers, and art directors. AtHostMilano 2017, the Furniture, Technology, and Tableware area is going to be the perfect stage for presenting the latest trends and solutions. It will be an immersive experience into hospitality and creativity, where you can find out the latest design solutions and products.

You will be delighted of all the tables and seats for indoor and outdoor use, and furniture in general that will be showcased here.

This will be the place where to find new ideas through concept stores and hybrid installations, and where technology applied to furniture (from the choice of new, unique, and environmentally-friendly materials) plays the leading role. But a breath of fresh air also comes from the tableware sector, where plastics, handmade glasses, wood, and porcelain are dictating the rules.

The keywords of the next generation table are practicality, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability, regardless of whether we are talking about tableware or professional clothing.

Furthermore, this micro area will be enriched by the project: EXIHS, Excellent Italian Hospitality Services, the exhibition area conceptualised by theatre director and stage designer, Davide Rampello, who conceived the installation, which was then put into practice by Dante O. Benini.

The installation will be dedicated to the excellence of the contract furniture industry and VIP hospitality. It will be a journey through the history of hospitality in Italy and a true performance, where architectural solutions and materials become a true work of art.

Awards ceremonies, workshops, and live contests

There’s much more than b2b events and business meetings to see and experience. What makesHostMilano 2017 an international point of reference and a must-attend event are the over 500 initiatives scheduled among workshops, training sessions, round tables, and cooking shows. HOSThinking – 10 Designers for 100 Products, in collaboration with POLI.design and ADI – Italian Association of Industrial Design – will be the event showcasing innovation and creativity.

Ten designers will select 100 solutions among those conceived by the over 2000 exhibitors attending the fair. The projects must involve the creation of new hospitality experiences and use scenarios: from interior design, food, retail, and hotel formats to furniture and tableware products.

Innovation in the hospitality sector will be acknowledged by Smart Label, the innovative award promoted by HostMilano in partnership with POLI.design and ADI – Italian Association of Industrial Design – intended for products/services/projects that stand out for their functionality, technology, environmental sustainability, or design.

Futurbar Green will be one of the “hottest” events of the Furniture, Technology, and Tableware area. A special initiative of HostMilano 2017, which consists in a fit-out prototype for an environmentally sustainable Ho.Re.Ca bar of 300 sq.m, where companies and distributors can showcase their products (furniture, technology, equipment, and services).

The International Architecture and Design Award “BAR/RISTORANTI/HOTEL D’AUTORE 2017”(TOP BARS/RESTAURANTS/HOTELS 2017) curated by IN/ARCH, Gambero Rosso, The Department of Architecture of Roma Tre University, Artribune, Archilovers and HostMilano, in partnership with FederlegnoArredo, has reached its third edition.

The closing event will be two professional refresher meetings for architects and industry experts: user experience and perception in solutions, products, hospitality services and hospitality 4.0, services and products for today’s hospitality.
