HAMBURG – In parallel with INTERNORGA 2015, Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC) is setting up a new annual event for the butchery trade. “FFA Nord” will be held for the first time at the Exhibition Hall at CCH – Congress Center Hamburg from 15 to 17 March 2015, reflecting the whole process chain of the butchery trade.

The exhibitors have 7,000 square metres to present their products, concepts, trends and innovations exclusively for the butchery trade – in the areas of working and operating equipment, raw materials and semi-finished products, food safety & hygiene, shop fitting, equipment and environmental engineering.

FFA Nord and INTERNORGA will be held only a few minutes’ walk from one another.

Out-of-home market more and more important for butchers

“Our new event, FFA Nord, reflects the dynamic developments in the market. Hot food counters, snacks, catering and party service are already the second most important source of revenue for many butchery businesses, following conventional over-the-counter sales.

So it is a logical step to add this new event to INTERNORGA, the leading trade fair for catering and restaurants; this creates a unique platform in the North, and a dedicated meeting place for the butchery trade,” says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.

The combination of these two events means that in future, butchers will find everything for their core areas of business in one place – products, concepts and services for the butchery trade at FFA Nord, and a gigantic range for their out-of-home business at INTERNORGA.

For all the many butchers who have attended INTERNORGA regularly for many years, this new event gives an extensive range for their traditional core business.

Strong partners for FFA Nord

FFA Nord has support from strong partners. The Hamburg Butchers’ Guild and the Butchers’ Guilds from Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania are promoting the establishment of a butchery trade fair in North Germany.

“The butchery trade in the North is looking forward to FFA Nord! We are pleased to support this event, and will work together with HMC and our colleagues from the trade associations in Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania to develop and implement an attractive supporting programme for trade visitors from our business.

Our colleagues will benefit from the suggestions and ideas for more revenues and more value added. There will also be plenty of opportunities for exchanges and fruitful discussions,” says Michael Durst, Head of the Hamburg Guild Association and Vice-President of DFV (German Butchery Association).
