CANTON, Mass., Us – Dunkin’ Donuts, one of the world’s leading coffee and baked goods chains, today announced that it has signed a master franchise agreement with Coffee & Brands Sweden AB to begin developing its restaurants across Sweden.

The leaders of the franchise group, Oskar Svensson, Tommy Svensson and Johan Sjohagra, have a wealth of business and retail experience in Sweden. The master franchise agreement calls for the development of 30 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout Sweden over the next five years, with an initial focus on the Stockholm area.

A rich coffee tradition

“Sweden has a rich coffee tradition and is among the top countries in the world for coffee consumption, so we are very pleased to announce Dunkin’ Donuts’ upcoming entry into the market,” said Paul Twohig, President, Dunkin’ Donuts U.S. and Canada, and Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Europe and Latin America.

“Our new master franchisee, Coffee & Brands Sweden AB, has a leadership team with a great combination of business savvy and hands on operational experience. We look forward to partnering with them as we develop the brand across Sweden in the coming years.”

Dunkin’ Donuts currently has nearly 11,000 restaurants in 33 countries around the world, including more than 125 locations across Europe in Bulgaria, Germany, Russia, Spain and the United Kingdom.

A wide range of coffee beverages

The restaurants in Sweden will feature the brand’s wide range of coffees, espresso-based beverages, teas, Coolatta(R) frozen drinks, bagels, muffins, croissants, donuts, sandwiches and wraps, all served fast in friendly, convenient locations and at a great value.

The brand will also offer regional menu items specific to Sweden to cater to local tastes.

“We are very excited to bring a wide variety of signature coffee and food options, as well as menu items tailored to local tastes, to Sweden,” said Tommy Svensson, CEO and Co-Owner, Coffee & Brands Sweden AB.

“With coffee culture being such an important part of Swedish life, we feel that Dunkin’ Donuts’ high-quality blends of coffee and welcoming, friendly restaurant environments will be a great addition for the market. We look forward to serving guests across the country as we begin opening Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the years ahead.”
