OAKVILLE, ON – Corporate Knights, the Toronto-based media and investment advisory company, has released the 2015 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World (Global 100) Index, featuring Tim Hortons as the top-ranked Canadian company at number 11, up from the number 22 spot in 2014.
Companies named to the Global 100 index are the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industries, selected from a starting pool of 4,609 listed companies with a market capitalization greater than $2 billion (USD).
The Global 100 is determined using twelve quantitative sustainability indicators, including the amount of revenue companies generate per unit of energy consumed, the ratio of CEO to average worker pay and dedication to product and system innovation.
“We’re honoured to be recognized as one of the world’s most sustainable companies, particularly as the top Canadian brand on the ranking” said Alexandra Cygal, Vice President of Corporate Communications, Restaurant Brands International.
“Our commitment to sustainability is one of the keystones of our business and our investment in this area has contributed to our continued success in making a true difference for the individuals and communities we serve every day.”
