MILAN – UCC Coffee UK & Ireland has unveiled an all new look for its most sustainable coffee brand, Grand Café. The overhaul comes complete with fresh designs, sustainable packaging, and several new initiatives to help put conservation at its core. To coincide with the relaunch, Grand Café has committed to a three-year partnership with Conservation International – an international non-profit organisation that works to protect the critical benefits that nature provides to people – which will see it contribute to vital projects in coffee growing regions across the world.

Its first project will support an initiative in Antioquia, Colombia, where more than 15% of all Colombian coffee is grown. Conservation International has identified the huge potential in this area to promote restoration of forests in and around coffee farms, which will result in tremendous environmental and economic benefits for local communities.

Grand Café is also working alongside Tipa and TUV Austria to introduce sustainable packaging that is fully industrially compostable and made from recycled materials.* Its line-up of five unique blends remain unchanged, and each is sustainably sourced and fully certified, guaranteeing a positive impact from seed to sip.

Kirsty Pavely, Group Senior Brand Manager, UCC Coffee Europe, comments: “Grand Café is the biggest brand in our portfolio and its built a strong reputation for a coffee that does good and tastes good. But we know today’s coffee drinker desires more than just great tasting coffee, with sustainability only getting higher on the consumer agenda. So, with that in mind, we’ve rejuvenated the brand and taken our credentials one step further to get behind a single mission of putting conservation at our core.

“Grand Café has been specifically made to improve an operator’s coffee offering, both in final product and sustainability credentials, making it easy for customers and stockists to do their bit. It’s been a tough year for everyone, but we mustn’t forget to give back to those that make this all possible.”

*Grand Cafe is working with TIPA and TUV Austria, to offer certified, fully industrially compostable packaging. If local recycling allows, the packaging can be added to food recycling or green waste bins.

The full Grand Café range includes:

  • 100% Rainforest Alliance 500g beans
  • 100% Fairtrade 500g beans (also available in decaf 200g beans)
  • Triple Certified 500g beans
