ISRAEL – A pioneer in on-demand zero-pollution roasting, griin’s countertop roasting solution is poised to change the commerce of coffee by bringing green coffee beans directly to the forefront of the trade and into the hands of the consumer, focusing on the workplace coffee segment. Doing so eliminates unnecessary international transportation of coffee beans to centralized roasting facilities and the multi-laminate packaging required to artificially preserve the freshness of previously roasted coffee.
Over the last few weeks, griin’s countertop coffee roaster has operated at the SQLink HQ where it has produced freshly roasted, carbon-neutral, environmentally friendly, and objectively awesome coffee that has been enjoyed by both employees and visitors.
Following months of rigorous testing and tasting at the griin labs, the roaster passed final cupping and tasting protocols and has been approved by David Bensal, griin’s food engineer and the former Chief Technologist of Strauss Coffee, and Ami Shemtov, a coffee industry expert and CEO of the largest Israeli retail coffee company.
The cupping sessions were presided over by none other than Jonathan Scharf, griin’s COO and the founder of Q-cafe in Costa Rica and MAE in Israel. “It has been a long journey from the very first batch of a roasted and slightly charred batch to come out of the prototype roaster and to where we are now.” Said Jonathan. “The griin roaster now produces balanced and homogenous results that meet and even surpass their counterparts in the industrial roasting space”.
“We are just delighted to see our roaster onsite; the SQLink pilot has been a great opportunity to get feedback from office coffee drinkers and to learn from their input, we appreciate SQLink’s willingness to feature our solutions” stated Yuval Weisglass, CEO and co-founder of griin and added, “The pilot program will continue throughout the coming months in both Israel and the US, as a step towards US deployment.”
