HAMBURG, Germany – The latest grills and equipment, exciting activities and presentations, exchange of views, and tastings with experts: the popular Grill & BBQ Court at Internorga will be held for the third time, in cooperation with Grill-Kontor Hamburg.

The space outdoors and in Hall A2 has been enlarged to meet the high level of demand, and gives visitors an overview of the latest trends in grill and barbecue. This leading trade show for food service and hospitality is where visitors can meet national and international suppliers of kitchen equipment and accessories, pits and smokers, refrigeration systems and catering services.

Grilling gives restaurants new sales opportunities

Indoors in winter, outdoors in summer – grilling is the trend that opens up new opportunities for restaurants. That is reflected in the product range at Internorga 2019, with an enlarged and innovative Grill & BBQ Court in the outdoor space and in Hall A2, giving suppliers more space to showcase their product innovations and visitors more opportunities for exchanges with the experts.

Specialist butchery suppliers will also be there, such as Fritz Raulwing GmbH & Co. KG, and suppliers of pits and smokers such as Southern Pride BBQ from the US. Landig und Lava GmbH & Co. KG present a global novelty, a ready-to-use refrigerator for dry-aging. MAMMUT Catering will showcase the latest grills, smokers and BBQ articles, and offers for grill seminars and events.

Quality beats quantity in grill products

Horst Krawutschke, Managing Director of MAMMUT Catering, summarises the grill trends: “The focus is on high-quality products in 2019 – both in food and in equipment. The trend is to serve less meat, but higher-quality products. They include fish and poultry, and lots of vegetables and organic products.” Other trends are winter BBQ with gas grills, and good cuts of meat products sourced locally. Today’s guests want to know where the meat on their plate comes from, and they attach importance to transparency about animal welfare and other factors, to ensure they have a good feeling about the meat they are eating.

Trend to regional foods moving forward

Today’s consumers attach more and more importance to animal welfare and transparency in meat production. Exhibitors at the Grill & BBQ Court want to meet that need. “One of the top trends in the meat industry today is to give animals more time for natural growth. That not only improves flavour and ensures finer fat deposit, but also gives consumers a better feeling when they eat meat,” says Dirk Alberts, Managing Director Grill-Kontor Hamburg. Other major topics are regional products such as lamb from Husum, and veal from Lüneburg Heath. “Regional foods look like one of the big trends for the future,” notes Dirks Alberts.

Internorga will be held from 15 to 19 March 2019 at the Hamburg Messe und Congress site. The Grill & BBQ Court will be there for the third time, in the outdoor space in cooperation with Grill-Kontor Hamburg. Further exhibits will be on show in Hall A2.
