MILAN, Italy – Gruppo Cimbali, known worldwide for its design and production of professional espresso machines, is participating at Italian Design Day 2021 (IDD) in an effort to promote Italian design on an international scale. Italian Design Day is an extensive program of promotional events created with the scope to support, and promote, design and internationalization of the strategic industrial sector for Italian exports.
Now in its 5th edition, the Italian Design Day in the United States is coordinated by the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and it’s part of the international program promoted by MAECI to celebrate Italian design and creativity in the world.
The event will be inaugurated with a webinar and a new promotional video “Inimitable and Iconic: Italian Design Stories in the US” created by ADI (Industrial Design Association) on iconic products of Italian design linked to the United States and developed on five virtuous macro-sectors identified by 5Fs: Furniture, Fast & Fabulous, Fitness & Fun, Fashion, Food year, to launch the event there will be a new video highlighting the key design products that strengthen the relationship between Italy and the United States.
This 2021 edition holds an elevated importance as it is taking place throughout the 160 years celebration of diplomatic relationship between the two countries (1861 – 2021).
In particular, Gruppo Cimbali has been recognized as the leading brand of espresso coffee machines for its acclaimed design
For this reason, the distinguished Faema E71E, together with La Cimbali Pitagora, will be featured in the iconic video created by ADI (Italian Association for Industrial Design), which will feature the distinctive role that the Group’s innovative machines hold in the Food and Design sector.
Two award winning machines, La Cimbali Pitagora, designed by Achille e Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the Group’s coffee machine has been the singular winner of the Golden Compass of 1962.
Both machines have been awarded with important ADI Awards: La Cimbali Pitagora, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, is still the only espresso machine awarded with the Compasso d’Oro back in 1962.
Faema E71E – developed in collaboration with Italdesign’s Industrial Design Division- was awarded with the ADI Design Index 2019 and takes inspiration from the automotive industry
Its design embodies fully the stylistic vision of the brand Faema and the design philosophy that characterizes ItalDesign: ergonomics, technology and functionality.
