DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – At the Gulfood trade fair in Dubai, the grinder manufacturer Ditting will be presenting the art and subtleties of coffee grinding in the Swiss pavilion. The Middle East is a growing market for the traditional Swiss company.

When the doors of the Dubai World Trade Centre open for the Gulfood from 23rd-27th February, the most important international trade fair in the Middle East for hotels, gastronomy, hospitality and food technology will celebrate a huge success.

Due to the high increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors over recent years, the Trade Fair will be extended for the first time to a five-day event in 2014.

Around 4,500 exhibitors will be presenting their new products in Dubai, while 110 international pavilions organised as joint stands will attract visitors from the whole Arab region.

The Gulfood is therefore an absolute must on the trade fair calendar for many European exhibitors. 152 countries will be present at the trade fair, while the Swiss pavilion will house diverse companies from Switzerland.

Ditting, a Swiss manufacturer of high-quality coffee grinders, will be presenting its products for making espresso and filtered coffee at stand S-E20 in the Swiss pavilion.

Last year Ditting was also to record good growth in the Middle East and used the trade fair intensively to maintain and generate contacts with dealers and partners on site as well as from the adjacent Gulf region.

In addition to the innovative Horeca range of grind-on demand grinders, in 2014 the focus will be on the performance and precision of Ditting retail grinders for fine Turkish coffee grinding.

The Ditting retail grinders guarantee high-quality Turkish coffee grinding with a fine grind setting of up to 125 micrometres and a grinding output of up to 550g coffee per minute.

Due to their compact size the grinders are perfect for coffee shops and retail stores, as well as small roasters. One of the special highlights is the 1800 retail grinder, which can fine grind up to 3.5 kilograms of Turkish coffee per minute. It is a versatile tool for roasters.

To make sure that the enjoyment of coffee isn’t forgotten with all this technology, Ditting cooperates with the renowned Swiss coffee roaster Blaser Cafe in Berne for the supply of coffee and the preparation of drinks at their stand.

In cooperation with the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), various workshops, certifications and competitions in the art of coffee preparation will be held at the Gulfood in Dubai.

As a long-term supporter of the SCAE and the specialist coffee industry, Ditting not only supports international events by providing its grinders and know-how, but has also devoted itself to promoting the local coffee culture in Switzerland.

For example, in 2014 Ditting will once again be a Gold Sponsor of the Swiss Coffee Championships, held in St. Gallen from 7th-9th February as part of the holidays trade fair and which are being organised by the Swiss SCAE for the 15th time.

At the championships, over 70 Swiss coffee specialists will compete in the disciplines Barista, Latte Art, Cup Tasting and Brewers Cup.

The respective winners of the four competitions will represent Switzerland at the 2014 World Championships in Rimini and Melbourne.
