MILAN, Italy – Smart decanters that use hi-tech to enhance aromas. Tables created to revolutionise the plating-up process. Slender hanging mini bars. Capsules and oxygen barriers to retain the flavour and aroma of coffee. 3D printing systems for personalised food creations.
A domotic handle that amazes arriving guests with technologically advanced functions. Are we on the international space station or the set of a science-fiction movie? No, we are at HostMilano, in the area devoted to innovation. An at the International Hospitality Exhibition that is all about a green seal of approval called the Smart Label.
The label has been applied to over 150 designs over the last three editions and there have been 20 special mentions for products and services that have changed the world of hospitality.
A sign that HostMilano really is a springboard for new ideas in all areas of the hospitality sector, as well offering a unique opportunity to find everything you need to fit out an establishment and rise to the challenges of the future. Always keeping one step ahead of the game.
For the 2019 edition of Smart Label, this recognition of innovation in the hospitality sector promoted by HOST–Fiera Milano in collaboration with POLI.design and sponsored by Italy’s Industrial Design Association (ADI), will be expanding its horizons even further, with three separate award categories: a SMART Label for products with characteristic innovative content, an Innovation SMART Label for products with a high level of innovative content seeking to break with and move beyond established trends in the sector; and a Green SMART Label for products with a high level of innovative content and distinctive energy saving and eco-sustainability features.
There will once again be two types of special mention, for the application of new materials and for the introduction of digital connections between different products in an Internet of Things perspective.
The initiative is reserved exclusively for exhibitors registered for Host 2019, and applications can be made no later than 29 April 2019 through the website https://polidesign.net/en/smartlabel2019.
