Like a “district” within an international metropolis, a crossroads of people and experiences. All with something to contribute. The Coffee District at Host2015, will be a space organised by CPC (the Coffee Promotion Consortium) and UCIMAC (the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Espresso Coffee machines and Bar equipment), a true blend of experiences and skills whose common denominator is high-quality coffee.
And here, analysts and opinion leaders of international standing will offer insights into what tomorrow’s coffee market will be like.
The Coffee District will be just as innovative and original as the skills it will be setting out to convey, with its workshop and discussions on the findings of major market research. Experts, research institutes and international bodies will analyse trends and future scenarios in depth, focusing in particular on single-portion capsules and on Italian attitudes to coffee, with the presentation of research data collected by Astra Ricerche.
Other areas of interest will include the well-being generated by coffee, the drive towards making coffee a sustainable beverage and the encouragement of a quality coffee culture. There will also be a space devoted to the world of specialty coffees and micro-roasting.
“The event sets out to bring all those involved in the trade together to share their ideas on common areas of interest, with the hope of helping to further raise the profile of Italian coffee,” explains Patrick Hoffer, President of CPC.
“Because of its great dynamism and its capacity for renewal,” adds Maurizio Giuli, marketing manager of di Nuova Simonelli and president of UCIMAC, “the coffee sector is today one of the most interest divisions, and one with the greatest potential for growth. But in order to compete in this market we need to be able to look ahead and interpret future dynamics.”
Of all the various moments, one that promises to attract large numbers of professionals and the merely inquisitive will be the presentation (with practical demonstration) of the ISSpresso machine, which was used on the International Space Station in a zero-gravity context and operated by “barista extraordinaire”, astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti.
An other interesting formula will be the TOC (Tips on Competencies) Talks, where various technical, economic and also social aspects of coffee-drinking will be discussed, along with an examination of the relationship and sharing aspects of coffee for people and organisations. If the need for relations and shared moments increases, then so too will the importance of coffee as a key product in such situations.
