MILAN – The entire Ho.Re.Ca world in one exhibition at HostMilano. From bean to cup and from flour to oven, by way of the latest machinery and formats, the various sectors of professional hospitality, with no exceptions, once again unite on the stage that is the 41st edition of HostMilano (at fieramilano, from 18 to 22 October 2019), the exhibition that has become “the” global benchmark for what it means to be innovative and anticipate trends.

This is backed up not only by the figures, which confirm the continual growth of the sector, global sales of Professional Equipment having achieved a turnover of 54.8 billion Euro in 2018 according to data from the Ulisse Information System calculated for Host (Italy remains among the world leaders in terms of the classification of exporting countries).

Confirmation also comes in the form of the number of companies taking to the starting blocks at the exhibition: a total of 2249 exhibitors, of which 1360 Italian and 889 international from 55 countries, the top 10 markets leading the way, or rather Germany, Spain, France, USA, Turkey, UK, Holland, Greece, Switzerland and Portugal (while new-entries include countries such as Albania, Argentina, Colombia, Latvia and Lebanon).

As for the product categories of exhibiting companies – the event is arranged according to macro areas, to allow for blending and synergy between similar industries – this year’s numbers see a particular boost in the Bars, Coffee machines and Coffee sectors, as well as the Bakery field; the result being that Professional Catering, along with Bakery/Pizza/Pasta, will be the best represented area (43.8% of companies), followed by Bars/Coffee machines/Coffee (37.6%) and Furniture/Tableware (18.6%).

The world is on stage at HostMilano, with partnerships, buyers and more than 500 events

An exhibition “without borders”, an absolute must for the whole hospitality and professional catering world. Within a strategy that has seen greater capillary promotion worldwide, HostMilano further strengthens its positions as a global equipment hub and lines up with a series of partnerships signed with the field’s most prestigious Italian and international associations (particularly those of the USA and Canada, but without forgetting Latin American and key European countries).

Thanks to the collaboration with ICE Agenzia, more than 1500 hosted buyers will come to Milan from 80 countries (mainly from the USA, Canada, Middle East, UAE, China and Russia), with an 80% turnover and an increasingly comprehensive typological mix, and more than 100 accredited international journalists.

The “global” outlook of the exhibition is rounded out with the BeMyHost project, with a total of 20 Host Ambassadors – all international influencers with thousands of followers – who are tasked with “capturing” the latest trends in hospitality, both around the world and during the days of the event itself, to then share these on their social channels.
But the role of HostMilano as an international pole for innovation, technology and lifestyle also involves an events schedule that is busier than ever before, with more than 500 events of all types to satisfy even the most demanding of palates, with national and international competitions, show-cooking, pastry-making and bartending exhibitions, as well as opportunities to consider the latest hot topics.

Innovation and design: the SMART Label, Host Innovation award takes off

Innovation and design. A pairing that proves increasingly successful in the professional hospitality world in the third millennium and one that cannot be ignored within an event such as HostMilano, innovation part of its very DNA. After the success of the last three editions, during which more than 150 awards and 20 special mentions have been assigned to key players in the Italian and international Ho.Re.Ca world, SMART Label, Host Innovation award makes its return. The competition is run by Fiera Milano and HostMilano, in collaboration with POLI.Design, a Consortium of the Politecnico di Milano and with the support of ADI – Associazione Italiana per il Disegno Industriale.

Once again this year, the seven-member international panel comprising university professors, professionals and national and international experts with enormous experience in design, hospitality and energy saving will evaluate the 214 entries, voting on the degree of innovation and selecting the smartest solutions.

And that’s not all, because as part of the Smart Label project, the 2019 edition of HostMilano also sees the launch of Design Talks: seven professional seminars providing updates for architects, experts and operators in the trade with a user-centric approach and a particular focus on digital transformation.
