The new Iberital VISION – designed by Andreu Carulla ACID studio – has received international recognition by achieving the prestigious Green Good Design Award, A’Design Award, EID Award and being finalist in the Delta.

They all reward brand’s firm determination to build a healthier and more sustainable future through design and technical excellence.

Just a couple of months after its release, the new espresso machine has earned unanimous praises among the juries of the most important industry awards for its streamlined design and its use of fine materials.

They also highlight the elegant blend of functionality and smart technology that characterises it.

Timeless yet futuristic, precise yet approachable, VISION is the result of a profound reimagining of the professional coffee machine: a more efficient, intuitive and healthier equipment.

These awards –plus the trust placed in the project by the European Union through the Horizon 2020 program– reinforce the company’s vision for leading the sector in its attempt to address the social and environmental challenges ahead.

The most awarded espresso machine

For being an example of smart design and crafting quality, for its innovative technology, for its conceptual renovation, for its ecological commitment. For all this, VISION is in the path of becoming the most awarded espresso machine.

“It rewards technological investigation expressed in terms of sustainability,” the Green Good Design Awards explain, “and sensible decisions on materials, as well as innovation combined with the elegance of design and aesthetic impact.”

Granted by the Chicago Athenaeum – Museum of Architecture in collaboration with the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies, the GGDA is one of the first and most prestigious awards in international design.

The synthetic and rational design, brutalist-inspired, with which Iberital pursues to define the next generation of coffee machines, has also been distinguished by the exclusive Italian Platinum A’ Machinery Design.

An award given to a very limited number of designs that demonstrates an exemplary level of greatness in design.

VISION has also deserved the EID Award, given by appliance Design magazine. It aims to reward “the most outstanding achievements in innovation, design and functionality”, according to aesthetics, human factors, and technical merits.

In addition, awarded as finalist of the Premios Delta, organised by the Asociación de Diseño Industrial del Fomento de las Artes y del Diseño (ADI-FAD), VISION has been
highlighted within a set of new products that, being “committed to our environment, safety and social responsibility”, contribute to “comprise the tangible and intangible culture of an era.”

Consequently, it will take part in The Best Design of the Year exhibition, which can be visited at the Disseny Hub Barcelona until October 31th.

Finally, the new Iberital machine has been recently nominated by the jury of the German Design Award 2019 to participate in one of the competitions with the greatest impact in the European design scene.

Result of a profound reimagining

Neither screens nor buttons. VISION includes a simple joystick system – which has granted Utility Model protection– that allows the manual control of the coffee brewing process, turning it into a completely new experience – much more affective, gestural and intuitive.

“It’s like interacting with a friend,” chief designer Andreu Carulla explains, “you don’t do it by pushing buttons, but by patting them on the back.”

The exquisite and careful selection of the finest materials, such as black Marquina marble, white corian, stainless steel, light wood and glass, means another revolution within the sector, gifting the machine with a clean and warm finish.

This heightened sensitivity towards aesthetics makes VISION a refined one-of-a-kind piece that fits perfectly into any environment.

“The espresso machine of the future mustn’t look like anything else,” Carulla says, “thus we needed a totally new and ground-breaking aesthetic which could help to identify the brand and find a place in the market.”

The most eco-friendly and healthy coffee machine

Behind this analogical-like shape, the new Iberital machine hides a number of breakthrough technologies that make it the most eco-friendly and healthy professional
espresso machine.

Firstly, it minimises its carbon footprint and cuts down its energy consumption by up to 50% due to its innovative fast heating system that reduces unnecessary energy losses.

Additionally, the multiboiler system ensures thermal stability, boosting a more effective coffee erogation.

This system also helps the user to manage each group independently, and gives them the possibility of controlling temperature, pressure and amount of water used in every delivery.

This way, it favours the extraction of organoleptic features, while enabling the barista to
customize and adjust all these parameters so as to improve their signature coffee brew recipes.

Besides this, the independent circuit system –also protected as Utility Model– makes it the first professional espresso machine to obtain water for infusions directly from the supply network, not from the boiler.

Thus, avoiding any metal or residual salt formed as a consequence of constant boiling and
evaporation, it secures always-fresh water whilst posing no health risks to consumers.

Equally, the special alloys –such as low-lead brass– used for the machine’s internal components equally avoid possible health risks by preventing traces of heavy metals from seeping into the beverages.
