ICO MONTHLY STATISTICS – Coffee exports slightly up in October

LONDON – World coffee exports amounted to 8.88 million bags in October 2014, slightly higher on year (+0.5%), according to ICO’s monthly figures released during the week-end.

Shipments of Colombian Milds surged 9.75% on year reaching a total of 1,056,963 bags confirming their positive trend.

Robusta exports rose by 6.8% to 3,316,112 bags driven mostly by Vietnam.

Volumes of Brazilian Naturals and Other Milds were down 3% and 10,71% respectively.

In the twelve months ending October 2014, world coffee exports decreased by 726,287 bags to 111,758,273 bags down 0.65% on the on the previous 12-month period.

Exports of Colombian Milds were up 1,660,528 bags or 15.87% to 12,126,941 bags. Shipments of Brazilian Natural rose 3.5% to 34,262,455 bags or 1,159,730 bags more on year.

Exports of Robusta fell slightly (-1.1%) to 42,835,825 bags, while Other Milds were almost 12% down to 22,533,052 bags from 25,602,240 bags during the previous twelve-month period.

Shipments from Brazil and Vietnam rose to record levels.

Brazil’s coffee exports rose by more than 4 million bags to 35,655,791 bags (+12.72%).

Vietnam’s coffee exports rose 18% to 24.75 million bags. Exports from Colombia were also up strongly to 10,932,291, or a 19.61% increase on year.
