Ico statistics: World coffee exports were up 0.4 percent on year in February

LONDON, UK — World coffee exports amounted to 10.16 million bags in February 2019, compared with 9.85 million in February 2018 up 0.4% on year, reports the International Coffee Organization (Ico) in its monthly statistics.

Brazil shipped 3.144 million bags, up 25.2% on year. Exports from Colombia surged 23% to 1.356 million bags, while exports from Vietnam fell sharply (-26.7%) to 1 612 million bags.

Exports in the first 5 months of coffee year 2018/19 (Oct/18 to Feb/19) have increased by 6.2% to 52.27 million bags compared to 49.21 million bags in the same period in 2017/18.

In the twelve months ending February 2019, world coffee exports amounted to 125.26 million bags, up 4.9% on year.

Exports of Arabica totalled 79.42 million bags compared to 75.96 million bags last year; whereas Robusta exports amounted to 45.84 million bags compared to 43.41 million bags.
