TRIESTE, Italy – Amigos Caffè recently participated in the Bellavita Expo, the B2B event that promotes Italian food and beverage abroad, which took place in Amsterdam from 13 to 15 January alongside Horecava, the main international trade fair for the Hotel and Catering sector.
The Trieste company, celebrating its 40th birthday this year, presented its IlMingardi S prestige blend, which made its debut at TriestEspresso Expo in 2016 and is named after the company’s founder Severino Mingardi.
Full-bodied and with a lingering aftertaste, this 80% Arabica / 20% Robusta blend has even proved popular with Northern European consumers accustomed to milder-tasting coffee.
Exhibitors and visitors arrived every day to savour it at the Amigos Caffè stand in Pavilion 13 at RAI Amsterdam, attracted by its subtle flavour and the engaging story behind its creation.
The blend also met warm approval from members of the Federazione Italiana Cuochi (Italian Federation of Chefs) participating in numerous culinary events alongside the Amigos stand.
The three stars won in the Bellavita Awards, the principal international competition for Italian food and wine excellence at the Bellavita Expo, confirmed the appeal of the Il Mingardi S blend.
During the three days of the fair, a panel of judges composed of buyers, importers, distributors, restaurateurs, sommeliers and chefs from all over the world, tasted competing products and rated them on a scale of 4 to 10 according to six criteria: taste, company narrative, packaging and branding, relevance to the local market, innovation and eco-sustainability.
One star was awarded for an average score of 7 or over, two stars for 8 or more, and 3 stars for 9 or more.
The company is extremely proud of its three stars for IlMingardi S, a new honour that will be soon highlighted on all packaging, in e-commerce channels and on the official website.
