VENICE, Italy — illycaffè renews its collaboration with La Biennale di Venezia on occasion of the 58th International Art Exhibition entitled May You Live In Interesting Times.
Contemporary art comes together with the everyday ritual of a cup of illy coffee creating influences and promoting original experiences. A concept that can be summarized in the message “there is art in everything we do.”
“We conceived a project in order to celebrate the strong bond with Biennale Arte, which has carried on through ten editions, that highlights and combines the three souls of the illy brand – sustainability, quality, and beauty – thorough the collaboration of creative talents from both the worlds of contemporary and culinary art,” explains Massimiliano Pogliani, CEO of illycaffè.
Throughout the six month duration of the exhibition, a series of dinner events organized with the MICHELIN Guide at the Arsenale Restaurant Le Bombarde features a creative dialogue between an artist, chosen by curator Ralph Rugoff, and a starred chef, selected by Michelin. Each dinner will feature a one-of-a-kind collaboration.
The chef and the artist will create a unique experience, available for purchase online to the public by the MICHELIN Guide. A part of the proceeds will be donated to support the digitalization process of the Photo library of the Biennale’s Historic Archive of Contemporary Arts.
Each artist will also contribute to the creation of a customized cup that will be featured in the special edition illy Art Collection debuting in autumn of 2019.
