Additionally, the city of Paris will host the unveiling of the new illy Art Collection designed by Lee Ufan.
At the ninth edition of Asia Now, curated by Slavs and Tatars, who previously collaborated with illycaffè to create an illy Art Collection in 2019, attendees at the fair, both exhibitors and visitors, will have the opportunity to savor the distinct illy coffee blend available at all the bars of the fair.
In a breakfast gathering at Mennour Art Gallery on rue Saint André des Arts, Lee Ufan himself will introduce his illy Art Collection. Drawing upon his Korean heritage, the artist has employed his unique minimalistic style to transform an everyday object like the iconic illy coffee cups into a blank canvas.
Over the years, these cups have been graced by the creative touch of internationally renowned artists, conveying their interpretation of the moment when brush meets canvas.
The illy Art Collection cups feature a solitary, bold brushstroke, preserving the essential space required for various elements to interact and establish a connection between the pristine porcelain and the artwork.
Kamel Mennour, a globally acclaimed art gallery owner and dealer, along with Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, directors of the Hamburger Bahnhof contemporary art museum and curators of the Lee Ufan retrospective opening in Berlin on October 26, will also participate in this presentation.
The illy Art Collection by Lee Ufan will be available for purchase in sets of 2 espresso cups or 2 cappuccino cups through the illy e-shop, in selected international museums, in stores (illy Caffè and illy Shop), major retail chains, and in indirect e-commerce channels.
