TAIPEI, Taiwan – illycaffè, a global company recognized worldwide for the privileged communication channel it has created with the world of contemporary art, is once again this year the official partner of Taipei Dangdai, a contemporary art fair held at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei (Taiwan) from 10th to 12th May 2024.
At the illy booth at the Taipei Dangdai fair, art lovers and exhibitors will be able to discover the new illy Art Collection designed by Lee Ufan and immerse themselves in an environment where beauty and goodness come together in a sophisticated design that recalls the characteristic style of the artist’s work and the aroma of the exclusive illy blend.
Through the characteristic essential trait that distinguishes him, Lee Ufan has used the iconic illy cups to express his concept of encounter, that moment in time and space when the brush meets the canvas.
The illy Art Collection mugs are in fact decorated with a single intense brushstroke, in order to preserve the space necessary to make different elements dialogue with each other and create a link between the white porcelain and the painting.
The illy Art Collections are the most tangible sign of the deep bond that has existed for over 30 years between illycaffè and the world of contemporary art.
The iconic cups that have transformed an everyday object into a blank canvas on which, over the years, more than 130 internationally renowned artists have tried, today represents one of the largest collections of contemporary art in the world.
Visitors will be able to view it in its entirety in the Take me Home section of the stand, thanks to a wall created for the occasion in which postcards illustrating the more than 450 cups that make up the collection are made available to the public.
