ROME, Italy – illycaffè is sponsoring the 16th Quadriennale di Roma, an exhibition open to the public between 13 October 2016 and 8 January 2017, which returns to the Palazzo delle Esposizioni after eight years with the title “Altri tempi, altri miti” [Other Times, Other Myths], featuring leading-edge approaches to artmaking and non-conventional exhibition techniques.
illy has long focused on the latest trends and currents in art. For the latest edition of the Quadriennale, illy has chosen to make a vital contribution to emerging artists by sponsoring the Premio illy Under 35.
The award will be given to the artist who, out of those exhibiting at the Event, have made a particular contribution to expressive freshness on the Italian contemporary art scene through their work.
A high-level International Panel assembled by La Quadriennale, including Carlo Bach, illycaffè’s artistic director (in the picture), will present the Premio illy Under 35 at a prize-giving ceremony on Friday 28 October 2016.
illy’s partnership with the Quadriennale confirms illycaffè’s support for the world of contemporary art and its role in disseminating culture.
For illy, art and beauty are not an add-on but a vital component of its corporate culture and the values that underlie all of the projects the Trieste-based company has backed in contemporary art, from its illy Art Collection of famous artist-designed espresso cups – which since 1992 has transformed an everyday object into a blank canvas on which more than hundred young artists and acknowledged masters of art have expressed themselves – through to the company’s participation at major exhibitions and international fairs
