BANGALORE – The fifth edition of the India International Coffee Festival ( IICF 2014 ) begins today at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore. Around 12,000 visitors are expected to participate in the event. The first three editions of the festival were held in Bangalore, the traditional coffee capital of the country, whereas the fourth edition was organised in Delhi.
IICF 2014 is the flagship Coffee event of India, organised by the Coffee Industry through the India Coffee Trust, under the aegis of the Coffee Board of India.
This prestigious 3-day festival will host some of the most sought-after names in the coffee industry.
Scheduled from January 21-25 in Bangalore (21st, 22nd and 23rd being pre-event workshop days), IICF 2014 will be extensively covered by the National and International media and will connect the entire Coffee Industry through a series of Educative, Business & Networking and Festive Events.
The primary focus of IICF 2014 is to create a gateway to India’s market by creating a platform for International and Indian Coffee stakeholders by fast forwarding their growing presence and encourage meaningful contacts between Local and International Entrepreneurs.
As coffee continues its transformation from a growth story in India to a story of growing investment, lifestyle, attitude and behaviour, IICF 2014 will focus on “The Changing Face of Coffee”.
The event will also focus on issues of health aspects of coffee and innovative and alternate channels of coffee delivery to consumers.
There will be workshops on processing, brewing, roasting, espresso making, cooking with coffee, art on silk and coffee entrepreneurship.
A trip to Coorg, called ‘Coffee Trail to Coorg,’ will be conducted at the end of the Festival.

The Conference
The International Conference at IICF 2014 will be all about in depth discussions on the latest trends in coffee market & retailing in India, on the cutting edge developments in coffee technology relevant to the Indian scenario with papers and demonstrations by world renowned experts.
The Conference aims to capture the changes that are taking place in the Coffee Sector and will discuss current trends related to Production as well as take a close look at the prevailing market scenario.
It will focus on issues such as changing role of Arabica and Robusta, health aspects of Coffee, Innovative & alternate channels of Coffee delivery to consumer, etc.

National Barista Championship
The final round of the championship will be held on January 24. The event will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of World Barista Championship.
The winner will represent India at the World Barista Championship to be held in Rimini 10 – 12 June 2014 in conjuction with the SCAE World of Coffee.
