Lampung Province robusta coffee export value in August hit US$42.5 million at the amount of 24,323 tons, representing a month-on-month increase.
“The figure is higher compared to July 2016 at the amount of 12,349 tons worth 20.7 million dollars,” said Lampung Trade Department head Ferynia Tuesday in Bandarlampung, as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said that increased Lampung coffee exports were made possible because of abundant stocks of the commodity following higher yield from the harvest season year-on-year.
According to him, Lampung coffee bean production was up 30 percent during the harvest season compared to that of last season.
He said that the region’s robusta and arabica coffee beans are exported to several countries, particularly those of Europe and Asia.
Arabica coffee bean exports in August, he went on, were worth US$101,568 weighing 19.2 tons.
The export destinations of Lampung coffee beans are Algeria, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hongkong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, England, South Africa, Romania, Iran, the United States and Sweden.
