OSLO, Norway – In the 72nd Anniversary of the Independence of Indonesia, the Indonesian Diaspora in Oslo, Norway held exhibition of Indonesian original coffee products.
Second Secretary of the Education Social Culture Function of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Oslo, Dilla Trianti, explained the Indonesian Arabica Volcanic Coffee 100% has entered Scandinavia region especially Denmark and Sweden and will enter the Norwegian market.
Dilla added in addition to the promotion of coffee the embassy also held a national and regional fashion performances competition followed by the people of Indonesia as well as various competitions such as tug of war, eating kerupuk (deep-fried crackers made from starch and other ingredients) competition, sack racing and moving the ball and marbles competition for children.
A week before, various matches in commemorating the 72nd Anniversary of the Indonesian Independence were also held by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Oslo, in the sports day activities like healthy walk and table tennis.
Indonesian Ambassador to Norway and Iceland Yuwono A. Putranto said the Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia is one of the ways so that the spirit of nationalism and patriotism will continue to flow within every Indonesian community and diaspora living outside Indonesia.
“It is expected that the people and the Indonesian Diaspora in Norway and Iceland feel involved and [could] re-explore the meaning of the Anniversary of Indonesia,” said Yuwono, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday.
The People’s Party event was opened by Ambassador Yuwono and continued with Puspanjali dance presented by children of Indonesian-Norwegian descent, along with entertainment featuring an Indonesian jazz singer, Murni Surbakti.
