DUBAI, UAE — The 2018 Dubai International Coffee & Tea Festival (DICTF) opens its doors today at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Running until 7 December, the 2018 DICTF will showcase all facets of coffee, tea, bar and cafe products, equipment and services.
It will also provide a venue for coffee and tea professionals to engage with potential partners and clients, and establish new business channels.
For the first time in the UAE, the practical and focused SCI Cafe Management Strategy Development Workshop Program for cafe owners, managers, and aspiring entrepreneurs will be launched during this year’s DICTF for enhanced staff management technique, while ensuring high profitability and productivity.
The Cafe Business course delivered by experts is designed to empower attendees to strategize, plan and do their research ahead of launching a new cafe business or learn how to better manage an existing business.
This edition, DICTF will stage the much-awaited Dubai International Coffee Championship in which cash prizes of up to USD 60,000 will be given away to the winners.
The winner of the International Competitor category of the Championship will take home US$ 40,000; while International Runner Up will win cash reward of US$ 5,000. Winner of the National Competitor category will take away AED 15,000, with the National Runner Up bagging AED 5,000.
Seeking to set new benchmarks and raise consumer awareness and engagement, DICTF is the only dedicated event in the Middle East that highlights cafe products, services and advancements in the production, and distribution of coffee and tea.
During the expo, visitors will not only have access to a wide range of suppliers, products, and ideas but to certified training programs as well, including the Certified Specialty Coffee Skills Program and the Certified Cafe Management strategy program.
Over the last nine years since its inception, the International Coffee & Tea Festival has proven instrumental to the development of the industry. DICTF, which is supported by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), is expected to offer fresh new concepts, new features, and innovative products to cater to the growing specialty coffee and tea industry in the UAE and the region.
There is no other venue in the Middle East where buyers can exclusively explore the functioning and benefits of a range of brewing equipment, espresso machines, roasters and other tools and accessories that make some cafés stand out from others.
The range of interactive activities on the event floor is tailored for buyers in search of better products; for baristas and roasters seeking continuing professional development and training; for entrepreneurs looking for direction and opportunity to get them started in the business; and for traders hoping to cash in on this lucrative industry.
