KOKOMO, Indiana, U.S. – The international coffee shop chain Gloria Jean’s Coffees is looking at different new locations to expand their market, with Kokomo being one spot in Indiana the company is eyeing.
Gloria Jean’s Coffees has a strong base in Chicago, where the company first opened its doors in 1979, according to Brian Balconi, the president of Gloria Jean’s parent company Retail Food Group USA.
Now, Balconi said the gourmet coffee company wants to branch out further into Indiana, where it currently has two locations – one in Merrillville and the other in Mishawaka.
Although no location has been pinned down, and nothing is set in stone, Balconi said that Kokomo is about the right size of a city for a new spot for their expansion.
Balconi said the coffee selection in the current locations has a tendency to draw in coffee aficionados, and they tend to be located in malls.
Now, he said, they are talking to franchise owners as they plan to reach further into Indiana.
