The International Coffee Week (ICW) announces with great enthusiasm that it will host the World Brewers Cup and World Cup Tasters Championship. These two championships will join the already confirmed World Latte Art Championship and the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship.
The greatest coffee event in Brazil connects all links in the coffee supply chain – from producers to consumers – taking place from November 7th to 9th, 2018, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
The capital of the largest coffee producer State in the country will host baristas from over 40 countries, competing in the four championships. This is the first time Brazil hosts events this size aiming the promotion and engagement of international professionals working in coffee extraction and tasting.
The ICW celebrates its 13th edition this year, and it is an ever-growing event, accompanying the trends of the international coffee market. Since the beginning, back in the city of São Paulo, the event has always had the main purpose to promote business and present opportunities to all professionals focused in quality coffee. ICW 2017 registered 17 thousands attendees, 140 exhibitors and it was responsible for around R$ 35 millions in turnover.
The week gathers coffee producers, roasters, cuppers, buyers, coffee products’ suppliers, entrepreneurs, baristas, coffee shop owners and coffee lovers. It presents relevant content through lectures, workshops and masterclasses to all visitors in the fields of market, innovations, consuming trends, business and entrepreneurship.
Since 1727, drinking coffee in Brazil is a daily habit, an institution that is carried on generation after generation. In this historical moment, coffee bean trading is growing around the world, with great perspectives, especially for specialty coffee. According to Euromonitor, the forecasted growth in 2018 in the specialty coffee market is 19%, and in this reality that calls for closer and more direct trades, ICW has as motto the connection of all links in the coffee chain.
We have our arms opened to welcome all domestic and international visitors and we will make the event as big as the largest coffee producing country in the world, who produces 30% of the beans roasted in the planet, featuring dozens of origins and diversity of aromas and flavours coming from more than 300 thousand producers.
Registration for International Coffee Week will be opened in July at the official website.
