HAMBURG, Germany –The leading European trade show for hotels, restaurants, institutional catering, bakeries and confectioneries will be held again in Hamburg from 14th to 19th March 2014.
This is the 88th INTERNORGA, bringing together the decision makers in the out-of-home sector in Hamburg, to discuss the latest product developments, trends and innovations.
This year’s event once more has an extensive conference programme with leading speakers from Germany and abroad, and exclusive events and parties.
Established concepts such as the presentation of the INTERNORGA Future Award, and the Newcomers’ Area, will be complemented by formats launched last year such as the LiquID Bar and the Pink Cube trend forum.
And there will also be new premieres this year, such as the finals of the European Pizza Championship, the baking show of the Wildbakers, and the new WINE World.
“INTERNORGA is the gateway to the sector. The special strength of this leading fair is the way it combines a unique range at the exhibition with presentation of all the trends and innovations for the whole of the out-of-home market,” says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC).
The highlights at a glance:
European Pizza Championship
The best of the best in the world of pizza baking will be meeting for the finals, and battling it out live on 17 March for the title of European Champion at the “Giropizza d’Europa”.
The winner can then justly claim to be Europe’s best pizza baker. The finalists have already demonstrated their skills as pizza bakers at the qualifying events – they are the winners of the competitions in Rome, Rimini, Paris, Budapest, Amsterdam, Massa Carrara and Riva del Garda.
Supporting this event, the World Pizza Champions of the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli will run a whole range of daily seminars, tests and tastings for all aspects of pizzas.
“Bakertainment” with the Wildbakers
A highlight for bakers and pastry cooks will be the baking show by the Wildbakers, with the slogan “Baking is sexy”, presenting fresh, creative ideas in bakery products and giving experts and new entrants to the sector inspiration for their own operations.
Newcomers’ Area
The Newcomer’s Area showcases innovative products and unconventional ideas. It features some 20 companies seeking new target groups and fields of business in the restaurant and hotel sector.
Its inspiring mix of products includes regenerating drinks for party-goers to napkins in tablet form, and drinking straws in retro look.
Pink Cube Trend Forum
Following its successful premiere last year, the Pink Cube trend forum is back again, opening up the horizon to the future, with presentation of international culinary news and snacking trends.
It is hosted by trend researcher Karin Tischer, and is both a discussion platform and a meeting point for ideas and inspiration. Its main thematic focus will be international bakery concepts and snacks.
WINE World
The new WINE World provides useful information on growing, vintners, storage and cellar management – straight from the vintners themselves.
It focuses particularly on wines that are imported exclusively for restaurants and hotels, and are not available from retailers. Vintners and vineyards from four continents will present the fascinating diversity of today’s wine world.
This is where every restaurant or bar operator will find the wine to match their own individual concept.
LiquID Bar
The LiquID Bar is where exhibitors and trade visitors can meet for exchanges in the atmospheric setting of a fashionable bar.
The ideal place to learn about new drink trends and their manufacturers or importers – such as exclusive gins, rums and vodkas, exotic liqueurs and unconventional mixers. A place of inspiration not only for national and international trendsetters, but also for small regional newcomers.
SKYWALK Table
Which way are things going in the table-top sector? What new trends are coming to our tables? Inspiration for table decoration will be impressively staged, for the second time now, on the 30-metre SKYWALK Table on the glass bridge between the A site and the B site of Hamburg Fair.
Coffee trends
More inspiration will be on show from some 70 exhibitors from all parts of the world, for a bestseller among out-of-home consumer products – coffee! The attractions at INTERNORGA 2014 include coffee beans, roasting, processing, machines, and leading baristi – five exhibition halls present the key players and smaller innovative concepts to the international coffee sector.
