BALI, Indonesia — Investree (PT Investree Radhika Jaya), Indonesia’s leading marketplace lending, announces a second round ‘green financing’ partnership with social enterprise Java Mountain Coffee, to enable Java Mountain Coffee offer guests of Four Seasons Resorts Bali farm fresh sustainable Indonesian coffee filled into biodegradable coffee capsules.

This second round ‘green financing’ partnership will contribute to Java Mountain Coffee making further in-roads to the travel, tourism and hospitality sector in Asia offering certified biodegradable coffee capsules, filled with farm fresh Indonesian sustainable coffee. This will give stakeholders in the industry the opportunity to stop using plastic and aluminium coffee capsules which is widely used.

Currently throughout Asia the majority of hotels that offer their guests in-room coffee capsules are made of plastic and aluminium which is causing proven irreversible damage to Mother Nature.

Investree ‘green financing’ partnership with Java Mountain Coffee will provide financing for in-room coffee capsule machines for Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, through a ‘Working Capital Term Loan’. This will enable Java Mountain Coffee to offer a selection of certified biodegradable Nespresso® compatible coffee capsules, filled with farm-fresh sustainable Indonesian coffee grown by all-women membered cooperatives in Bali and West Java.

The ‘Working Capital Term Loan’ is one of the productive loan types from Investree that utilizes the uniqueness of the borrower’s business model such as working with digital payment partners and/or logistics service providers, having work contracts in progress, and using point of sales (POS) application.

Java Mountain Coffee’s sustainable coffee partnership with the Four Seasons Resorts Bali will provide guests with farm fresh sustainable Indonesian coffee which empowers women farmers and seasonal farm workers whereby 10% is invested into a Women’s Empowerment Innovation Fund. This is a unique and important value which Investree and Java Mountain Coffee wish to highlight.

“This ongoing collaboration reflects the spirit of Investree according to our tagline “Everyone Can Grow”, which Investree also empowers female SMEs involved in this project. Through providing easy and fast access to finance, it is expected that SMEs can be helped financially so that their businesses can continue and benefit the wider community. “In addition, through this collaboration, we also want to strengthen cooperation in B2B segment so that our respective industries can grow,” said Adrian Gunadi, Co-Founder & CEO of Investree.

According to the World Bank, Women-owned, Women-lead SMEs, or Women-empowerment initiatives in developing countries can’t get the capital they need; they face an estimated credit deficit of nearly $1.5 trillion per current estimates. It is nearly impossible to start or sustain a business without access to capital.

Less than 30 percent of formal small and medium enterprises (SMEs), or empowerment initiatives around the world are owned, run or lead by women. Women entrepreneurs themselves face numerous challenges to financing, owning, and growing a business, including legal and policy obstacles to business ownership and development.

“We thank Investree for their continued commitment to the empowerment of indigenous rural women through this second round ‘green financing’ for Java Mountain Coffee. This collaboration is helping our advocacy to the travel, tourism and hospitality industry to remove plastic and aluminium coffee capsules from their businesses and replace with a circular solution, which ultimately is the best sustainable outcome for people from rural communities and for the future of our planet”, said Nadine Alexandra, Spokeswoman for Java Mountain Coffee.
