RIMINI – Buddy Valastro will be one of the stars of the Cake Design area (Hall D3) at the 35th SIGEP International Exhibition of Artisan Gelato, Confectionery & Bakery Production, at Rimini Fiera from January 18th to 22nd.
Along with his staff and family, Buddy, known to the general public as the ´Cake Boss´, is the star of the ´Cake Boss´ TV show, screened worldwide from his Carlo´s Bakery in Hoboken (New Jersey), a patisserie founded in 1910 where he makes extraordinary cakes that turn a master pastry chef´s work into a show.
Buddy is also a phenomenon on the social networks, with over 672,000 fans on Facebook.
Four years after the launch of the ´Cake Boss´ format, from January 2014 Valastro is also featured on another television transmission: Bakery Boss SOS Buddy.
The new Real Time series has been aired in Italy since 3rd January (every Friday at 10:10 pm) and features Buddy taking action to help reverse the fortunes of pastry shops hit by crises, with new recipes and new decor solutions for improving business.
Buddy Valastro, of Italian origin (his name is Bartolo) will be at SIGEP thanks to the commitment of Conpait (Confederazione Pasticceri Italiani) and in collaboration with Azzurra Press and Eat Travel Learn, along with Mauro Castano and Joe Faugno to tell his story and talk about his experience as an entrepreneur.
For the entire day of Saturday, he will meet trade members in the Cake Design area and from 4:00 to 6:00 pm will be the guest of honour at a talk show hosted by Conpait chairman and world champion pastry chef Federico Anzellotti. The Cake Boss, who made US-style cake decoration famous worldwide and combined it with the quality and tradition of Italian pastry and confectionery, achieving resounding success and popularity, will compare the styles of Italian cake design and US cake design, helping enthusiasts and professionals acquire the necessary knowledge to become entrepreneurial and self-motivated.
SIGEP Cake Design is the area dedicated by SIGEP to what is already an established trend, in which pastry chefs become almost designers, adding style and beauty to the tastiness of their products.

- On Saturday 18th the ´Reality Show´ with works dedicated to TV´s key players:
- Sunday 19th ´Renaissance Parade´, a parade of damsels and cavaliers in Renaissance costumes, paired with 10 fabulous cakes created by Conpait (Confederazione Pasticceri Italiani);
- Monday 20th Professional Talk Show with all the sector´s trends compared in a lively exhilarating meeting with excellent testimonials;
- Tuesday 21st grand finale with the Italia Cup for Cake Design.
