On April 6th the city of Milan organized the 14th Relay City Marathon. Mondelēz International has been one of the best represented companies with over 60 employees from across Southern Europe running for the good cause in the past four years.
The Milan run has been a unique occasion to help people in need, thanks to the charity program supported by the Marathon organization. This year, the employees of Mondelēz International ran to support Oxfam Italy, an NGO working in more than 90 countries to end the injustices that causes poverty around the world.
“Running for Oxfam has been a big incentive for our employees and also an important occasion to support an NGO who is committed to areas linked to cocoa and coffee supply”, said Valerio Di Natale, President for Southern Europe at Mondelēz International.
“The Milano Marathon day has been really beautiful and enjoyable. Running with Mondelez employees and having the chance to talk with some of them confirmed, once again, how much we can do together. We have different points of view and we operate in different sectors, but we share the passion for quality in our work with an emphasis on people and the desire to improve the life conditions’ of those in need.
I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart all Mondelez employees, as well as their friends and families, who chose to run with Oxfam to help us to build a better future, free from injustice and poverty”, said Roberto Barbieri, General Director Oxfam Italy.
