ITALY – Sigep 2015 in full swing in Rimini

The expo centre is ´sold out´, and Rimini Fiera gives the first great sign of Italian excellence in the EXPO year

RIMINI – From Saturday 17th to Wednesday 21st January 2015, Rimini Fiera is organizing the 36th edition of the SIGEP International Exhibition of artisan Gelato, Pastry, Confectionery and Bakery production, at which 175,000 trade members are awaited from all over the world.

The expo is world leader in artisan gelato, among the very top in the other sectors and completed by the comprehensive participation of related chains, such as coffee, which plays an increasingly important role with its international events. From Rimini Fiera will give the world the first great sign leading up to EXPO 2015, with Italy and its extraordinary excellent products at the centre of attention.

Following up on January´s record-breaking edition, Rimini Fiera confirms the simultaneous staging of RHEX Ristorazione (Rimini Horeca Expo), the trade expo dedicated to trends in food eaten away from home, as well as the biennial A.B.TECH EXPO, an exhibition that brings together under one ´trade fair roof´ the entire bakery sector, from the great quality of artisan products to innovative industrial technology that ensures absolutely top grade production.

The Rimini Fiera expo days have thus become the only opportunity in the world able to completely represent the artisan gelato and confectionery chains, a hub attracting the sector´s international trade members and large investors from outside the trade. Over 35,000 foreign trade members are expected.

The expos´ inauguration is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday 17th January. At the ribbon cutting ceremony, participants will include the President of the Emilia Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini, celebrity hostess, famous TV personality Benedetta Parodi, as well as Rimini´s mayor Andrea Gnassi and Rimini Fiera chairman, Lorenzo Cagnoni.

Extraordinary participation on behalf of companies, with over a thousand occupying the entire expo centre, where exhibit space was ´sold out´ two months before the expo.

Rimini Fiera business unit manager Patrizia Cecchi comments, ´We expect a further growth of the expo, which is increasingly able to qualify the profile of its visitors, particularly those from abroad.

A direction we have taken along with the key associations and enterprises, fundamental for sharing the strategies for the expo´s expansion. This has resulted in a complete, high quality product showcase, along with which Rimini Fiera works all year to create events promoting the chains of Italian-made artisan confectionery.´

Numerous events are programmed: from the Junior World Pastry Championship to SIGEP Gelato d´Oro, with the selection of the Italian team for the 2016 Gelato World Cup, and The Star of Sugar which will feature a showcase of sugar sculptures dedicated to the legend of the Ferrari.
