ITALY – TriestEspresso Expo prepares for its seventh edition

TRIESTE – From 23 to 25 October 2014 the seventh edition of TriestEspresso Expo returns. The biennial B2B trade fair, world point of reference for the espresso coffee industry makes its return in grand style with a move to a new location in the warehouses of the old Port of Trieste, Italy.

Near the centre of the city, very close to the sea, 12,000 square metres for over 230 exhibitors of the espresso coffee sector that in 2012 confirmed the success of an event which in the last twelve years has become the not-to-be-missed expo for coffee professionals.

The visiting path will involve the renewed Hydrodynamic Station, which will host events, contests and workshops, and continue in the halls located close to the sea, next to the suggestive coffee warehouses used at the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

All around, the historical cafés of the centre, Piazza Unità, the old town and the bars and restaurants looking out onto the gulf.

The numbers of the last edition have confirmed the positive trend of the event organized by Aries – Trieste Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Coffee Association of Trieste.

Ten thousand professional visitors from 85 countries met exhibitors from the entire coffee chain at the last edition of the show.

What is the visitor’s profile? Almost four out of ten are foreigners, of these two are from the new markets of Central and Eastern Europe, followed by Western Europe, Australasia and the Americas.

The visitor’s profile is that of a coffee sector professional: 65% of visitors are looking for new products or suppliers, and 83% play an active role in purchase decisions.

Exhibitors in 2012 came from 22 different countries and were well distributed among producers of green coffee from the more important production areas (India, Brasil, Indonesia, Tanzania, Burundi, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Vietnam and Jamaica which was the newcomer of the last edition), producers of roasted coffee, coffee machines, machinery, accessories and services.

At the new premises machinery and large plant manufacturers will have a new exhibition area dedicated to them.
