TOKYO – Segafredo has now a new exclusive ambassador café in Japan, located at the recently-developed borough of Tokyo Bay, inside the prestigious Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT). The shop was designed by Shigeru Ban, internationally known Japanese architect winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2014. Ban is famous for the delicacy of his buildings, his unconventional methods and his great contributions to architecture innovation and humanity.

Among his most recent projects are the Center Pompidou in Metz, France and the new Swatch headquarters in Biel, Switzerland – one of the largest timber structures in the world entirely built with cheap materials such as cardboard and bamboo, which defies current conventions.
In addition, Shigeru Ban stood out for its commitment to promoting sustainable development, enhancing the cultural value of goods and services, meeting the goal of Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group to promote a culture of sustainability along the entire value chain.
The café, which conveys the unique style of Ban’s creations, offers its customers the opportunity to connect with the employees of Kauai Coffee, the largest coffee grower in the United States based in Hawaii, and part of Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group. ,
Customers will reach out via a live video chat and discover the coffee story directly from those who wrote it: they will get to know what coffee they drink, and its journey from tree to cup.
