Julius Meinl is expanding its cold drinks offerings with the launch of its fresh Tea on the Rocks collection and innovative Cold Brew coffee range for hotels, restaurants and cafés globally.

The two new launches celebrate Julius Meinl’s reputation as a leader in quality and craftsmanship.

Centring on a passion for prestige, Tea on the Rocks focuses on premium leaf tea, available loose or bagged. The new range was specially developed for use in iced teas and created with ingredients chosen to optimise flavour extraction during tea preparation.

The light and refreshing real tea offering is not pre-bottled, but made fresh every day. It does not rely on sweeteners or stabilisers for its delicious taste.

Following much testing and development to achieve the perfect balance, Julius Meinl is introducing four Core flavours to the range: Traditional Pure Black, a balanced and flavoursome tea; Exotic Mango and Strawberry, a gentle black tea with fruity notes; Tropical Fields of Green, drawing flavour from Sencha tea and perfectly complimented by citrus flavours; and Red Berry Temptation, a bright red infusion with a sharp kick and a full taste of berries.

Further to its iced tea launch, Julius Meinl, a champion of Viennese coffeehouse culture and already a craft coffee leader, turned its efforts to the development of a new blend of Cold Brew coffee. For this unique brewing method, fresh, cold water is mixed with coffee that is specially ground for this purpose, and then brewed cold for 12 hours.

This lengthy process allows for the development of subtle notes and a pleasant natural sweetness in the coffee. Brewed from 100% Arabica beans, roasted at Julius Meinl’s Viennese atelier, the blend is particularly well suited for preparing this specialty.

Cold Brew coffee, along with Tea on the Rocks, is the perfect chilled summer drink. The versatile nature of the brew means it can be served on its own, or as a component to provide a caffeinated kick to cocktails, allowing baristas to experiment with flavours and add a flair of creativity to their drinks offerings.

Discussing the brand’s latest launch, Julius Meinl’s Head of Innovation and Vice President of the global Specialty Coffee Association, Christina Meinl, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be launching our latest innovations.

Several years in planning – from the search for perfect coffee bean farm lots, to testing optimal brewing times and piloting the concept in select markets to gauge consumer reactions – our cold drinks offering has been a labour of love for the brand.

Naturally, we’re so pleased to now be able to see – and taste – the results!

We hope this launch gives our café, restaurant and hotel customers a refreshing range perfect for the summer months and beyond.”

Julius Meinl’s Tea on the Rocks and Cold Brew packages are now available globally.
