La Marzocco at Mercato Metropolitano. On the occasion of EXPO 2015, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, which opened its doors in Milan on May 1, 2015, La Marzocco, in collaboration with Taglio – Milan’s first “third wave” coffee shop – will be present until October 31st 2015 at Mercato Metropolitano, an official off-site EXPO venue.
Expo’s Mercato Metropolitano proposes to be a farmers market dedicated to food AND culture, where the “meaning of small, small producers, small farmers, small craftsmen, is a state of mind and not a measurement”.
The Mercato Metropolitano, built both as an indoor and outdoor site, presents an ideal format for the scope of La Marzocco and Taglio, where the latter has created a coffee corner and to serve quality espresso – whether blends or single origins – on La Marzocco equipment, such as the new Linea Mini model, designed for the home.
Other than workshops and cupping, La Marzocco has established the True Artisan Café, an in-house format bringing roasters from around the globe together, who will show-case and serve coffee to the public on a rotating basis, including fresh green coffee to be roasted daily.
Moreover, La Marzocco will be organizing a Literary Café on a monthly basis and throughout the period of EXPO.
The Literary Café will host a series of events with chefs, sommeliers, journalists and authors who play a role in the culture of contemporary lifestyle as guests in order to share recipes, coffee beverages, and more through panel discussions, workshops, sensory competitions, Latte Art and insight into the preparation of espresso (as well as culinary creations) with La Marzocco machines.
