MILAN (Italy) – In 2009, La Marzocco chose to embark on the Out of the Box adventure in an aim to create an event thatwould shake up the status quo, tell its story, convey its culture and values, share “quality” face-to-face time with members of its distributorship, as well as provide space for each participant to network, exchange ideas, and, why not, grow. Topics ranged from origin to service to the barista to design to trade.
The 2011 edition opened its doors more widely, encouraging the participation of all members of thespecialty coffee industry in general, from barista to micro-roaster, from technician to sales person.
2013 is about “mindfulness” and breaking the rules.While concentrating on today, OOTB 2013 would like to provide the LM staff, network, wider specialty coffee industry and the public with the opportunity to open allits senses to new information, as well as new trends, to appreciatingdiffering perspectives. OOTB, especially in lightof a persistent precarious economy, is about noticing new things, about being vital, ensuring a competitive edge. Innovation is not limited to a product.
