MILAN, Italy – La Marzocco takes part in “Il grande gioco dell’industria”, the made-in-Italy iconographic collection that narrates the history of Italian culture and society through the display of fifty + 1 objects selected from the archives and museums associated with Museimpresa.
La Marzocco introduces the historical “Romeo 2”, with an image of the Alfa Romeo dating back to 1959, when the company’s founder, Giuseppe Bambi, decided to purchase a Romeo 2 (one of the first diesel-powered motor vehicles at the time) in order to promote, within its immediate market, the La Marzocco brand by customization with a local and authentic design project.
The original Alfa Romeo rode the streets of Florence and the immediate countryside for over a decade, revealing unique craftsmanship in light of the originality of the customization of the vehicle itself and the machines that were placed on display behind glass windows.
Recently, the vehicle was faithfully rebuilt and equipped with original La Marzocco coffee machines and grinders from the same epoch: the Comet, the Mondial, the National, the Rondine, the Disco Volante and the Vulcano.
The idea of the exhibition “Il grande gioco dell’industria” came about three years ago within the pages of the national newspaper Il Domenicale del Sole24Ore.
There was a desire to tell a story through a set of symbolic items, carefully selected from different companies, which reflect entrepreneurial visions, small aims, and the collective imagination of the nation’s manufacturing heritage, from the first industrial revolution until today.
The objective of the exhibit, which has been included within the 2015 calendar of “Expo in città” (Expo in the City), is to acknowledge “the greatness of human creativity and the passion behind boundless inventions, whether large or small”.

Since the beginning, the Association has carefully adopted a territorial strategy which – with a network of archives and corporate museums – stimulates a continuous dialogue and exchange of experiences between the members and the museum community, institutions and research institutes, with particular attention to the educational field and general public.
