MILAN – La Marzocco, a leader in high-end artisanal espresso machine manufacturing, will feature three flagship activations celebrating innovation and design, during the international design exhibition in Milan. For the first time ever, the sister-brand Modbar will make a unique debut within the Milan Design Week / Fuorisalone: Modbar Espresso Atelier. Here, guests will be invited to explore La Marzocco’s elegantly engineered, under-counter and modular espresso machine, the Modbar.
With its sleek, original and functional design, the Modbar has the power to transform any space, allowing visionaries to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, delivering excellence in hospitality, coffee, and beyond.

An exclusive pop-up store, the Modbar Espresso Atelier space will serve as an inspirational landmark and destination for the creatives – interior designers – architects – HORECA community, showcasing the extraordinary versatility, hospitality and aesthetic vision of this unique line of products.
Modbar, acronym for Modular Bar and undercounter cafè equipment, is an innovative set of brewing systems (for espresso or filter coffee, for example, or hot water for tea and steam for alternative milk-based recipes) that revolutionizes coffee preparation and experiences: the machine technology is neatly positioned under the bar counter, while the sleek iconic “Taps” remain visible on the countertop for beverage extraction and service.

Modbar offers a refined line of modular solutions and equipment that encourages interaction between barista and customer, while enhancing the clean and elegant design of any boutique space, seamlessly combining innovation and craftsmanship.
Modbar will also curate culinary and sensory pairings, involving renowned pastry chefs (such as Biasetto and Fiorani), F&B brands and roasteries (such as Aqua e Polveri, Gustificio and H.Osen). From “1895 Coffee Designers by Lavazza” Masterclasses to sweet recipes promoted onsite by Italian specialists in honey – liqueur – aperitifs, fresh roasted coffee beans will be served all day long, and transformed on the different Modbar module stations to delight visitors joining the space, at all hours, during each session.

Workshops program
The Atelier will feature exclusive tastings of artistic chocolate creations by acclaimed pastry chef Fabrizio Fiorani, pairing flavor and form with every bite, on April 7th, 10th, 11th.
During these same days, 1895 Coffee Designers by Lavazza will also host a series of intimate Masterclasses (available via Eventbrite) showcasing their 1895 Coffee Designers line – a journey through traditional and contemporary recipes brewed on Modbar systems – with Specialty Blend Petal Storm Coffee for espresso and limited-edition Beija Flor Coffee for alternative brewing method recipes.
Joining the lineup is H. Osen– a boutique bakery known for its delicious sour-dough goods. Moreover, Aqua e Polveri – an experimental roastery founded by Alessandro Rizzi and blending coffee, design and storytelling from the heart of Italy – will offer an immersive and versatile sensory journey on the Modbar, from dawn to dusk, serving excellent products from guest partners such as: Luigi Biasetto (world-renowned pastry chef), Nardini, one of Italy’s most historical distilleries (for the preparation of cocktails with “Acqua di Cedro”), the Mielizia company (for honey exploration), and the “Leone” aperitif which, from the town of Bassano del Grappa, has made its way to elegant Italian cities and lounges as a distinct alternative beverage – as well as to the Modbar Espresso Atelier, to delight the gourmands of Milan Design Week.
