WEST CHESTER, PA, U.S. – Lavazza Professional — part of the Lavazza Group and comprising the Flavia single-serve brewing systems and Klix vending systems—has been named one of America’s Safest Companies in 2020 by EHS Today, recognizing its companywide commitment to achieving excellence in its environmental, health, and safety efforts. From a distinguished field of nominees representing a diversity of industries, Lavazza Professional was chosen to receive the award after having its safety practices, procedures, innovations, and workplace impact rigorously assessed by EHS Today’s panel of judges.

Lavazza Professional stood out for not only its exceptional levels of safety, but also its results—demonstrating accident, illness, and injury rates lower than the average for its industry.

“Certainly, we’d be honored to be distinguished as one of America’s Safest Companies at any time, but it’s especially meaningful to us in 2020—a year when safety has been top of mind for every person and challenged in extraordinary ways by the pandemic,” said Jason B. Hall, SMS, Health, Safety, Environmental & Security Manager, Lavazza Professional.

“Every single one of us— from our most recent hires, sales teams, and support staff to executive leadership—has recognized this and continues to exemplify safety in the workplace and beyond. This achievement is the result of an all-out effort year after year, driven by pride in our work, commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve, and a passion for being a leader in our industry.”

For nearly two decades, EHS Today—the leading U.S. magazine for environmental, health, and safety-management professionals in the manufacturing, construction, and service sectors—has been recognizing exemplary safety efforts through its America’s Safest Companies awards.

To be considered for the honor, a company or organization must demonstrate excellence and measurable results in several areas. These include support from leadership and management for environmental, health, and safety efforts; employee involvement in the process; innovative solutions to safety challenges; injury and illness rates lower than the average for their industries; comprehensive training programs; evidence that prevention of incidents is the cornerstone of the safety process; good communication about the value of safety; and a way to substantiate the benefits of the safety process.

A company that values environmental, product, and end-user safety as a critical component of its business culture and bottom line, Lavazza Professional rose to the top among this year’s EHS Today nominees for delivering on all aspects of the judging criteria.
