CHICAGO, Ill. – Caffè Vergnano, the family-owned Piedmontese coffee company with 130 years of experience in roasting and blending the highest quality coffee, has debuted at Eataly Chicago with a state-of-the-art standing espresso bar.
This will be the second installation of Caffè Vergnano 1882 in Eataly US after Eataly NY and will offer the traditional standing espresso bar experience with a curated menu of espressi, macchiati and Eataly’s housemade pastries.
The Italian coffee company will also sell the entire line of Caffè Vergnano products, including the recently released capsules (compatible with select Nespresso machines) in the new Italian retail marketplace, located in the heart of the famed Michigan Avenue District.
Fourth generation Caffè Vergnano follows the finest coffee selection and roasting traditions and is one of the most dynamic and progressive producers of coffee in the world.
The superior quality of the Caffè Vergnano coffee blends come from the meticulous selection of the best raw materials available and a unique production process.
In 2000, Caffè Vergnano launched the 1882 Coffee Shop chain and now boasts over 70 venues worldwide. The latest opening in Eataly Chicago clearly demonstrates the strong partnership between two great Italian culinary institutions.
The Eataly Marketplaces in New York and Chicago have become the ultimate Italian retail and dining destinations for locals, out-of-towners, epicureans, and Italophiles in the United States.
Vergnano’s 1882 Coffee Shops, notable for their warm and welcoming atmosphere, are beacons for lovers of real Italian espresso and those who refuse to do without a quality Italian espresso even when traveling.
Director of Caffè Vergnano USA, Tommaso Lambert commented, “The launch of Caffè Vergnano 1882 at Eataly Chicago heralds a very exciting era for our brand in America and allows us to proudly promote the ‘Made in Italy’ brand to a new audience.
The partnership with Eataly makes perfect sense for our two companies because of the value we both place on tradition and innovation in the marketplace.”
The cornerstone of Caffè Vergnano’s successful strategy is the Èspresso1882, which developed from a desire to reinterpret coffee tradition in a contemporary way in order to offer consumers worldwide the true Italian espresso experience.
The project was launched in September 2011 with the presentation of Èspresso1882, a range of coffee capsules designed for the mass retail channel unique to the Italian market and compatible with Èspresso1882 Trè coffee machines as well as Nespresso*-brand Citiz, Pixie, Essenza, Lattissima, U and Maestria coffee machines for home use.
Today, Èspresso1882 is a truly complete system allowing you to make the perfect espresso in your own home.
